DVV Cup 2005/06

The 2005/06 season in the DVV Cup began with the round of 16 on 26/27. November and ended with the finals on March 19 in the Gerry Weber Stadium in Halle . Cup winners 2006 were VfB Friedrichshafen and Schweriner SC .

Season course

In the men's round of 16, all lower-class teams were eliminated. In the duels of the quarter-finals, the leading teams of the Bundesliga prevailed. Moers also won the semi-finals in Düren, but was then clearly defeated in the final against Friedrichshafen. VfB defended the cup again.

In the women's round of 16, second division Emlichheim threw Bundesliga club Grimma out of the race, but was eliminated in the quarter-finals against Münster. Schwerin prevailed after a bye in the top game against Dresden and reached the final after another win against Vilsbiburg. There, the SSC met defending champions Münster and won the trophy for the first time since 2001.
