DVV Cup 2003/04

The 2003/04 season in the DVV Cup began with the round of 16 on 29/30. November 2003 and ended with the Final Four tournaments. The men determined the new title holder on January 31 / February 1 in Dessau , the women a week later in Schwerin . The 2004 cup winners were VfB Friedrichshafen and USC Münster .

Season course

Wuppertal was eliminated as a Bundesliga team in the round of 16 at the second division Königs Wusterhausen, while the other lower-class teams had no chance. The Netzhoppers failed in the quarterfinals to Mendig. Friedrichshafen won the top game of this round after five sets in Düren. In addition, the SCC Berlin and Leipzig reached the Final Four. The dominant teams of the Bundesliga season reached the final with 3-0 wins. After Leipzig secured third place with a 3-2 win over Mendig, the decision in the final was not made until the tie-break. Friedrichshafen was able to defend its title.

All second division teams were eliminated in the women's round of 16. Schwerin first defeated Dresden in five sets and then threw defending champion Ulm out of the competition with the same result. The SSC hosted the Final Four, for which Münster, Leverkusen and Hamburg also qualified, but could not use the home advantage in the semi-finals and also lost the game for third place with 0: 3 against Leverkusen. Münster defeated TV Fischbek Hamburg in the final in the tie-break and won the trophy.
