The Discovery skirt is a washed up on Rifffelsen off the north coast of South Georgia . It is 1.1 km north-northeast of the Ems Rock in Stromness Bay .
Scientists of the British Discovery Investigations under the direction of Lieutenant Commander John Miller Chaplin (1889-1977) determined his position in the course of surveys of Stromness Bay in the years 1927 and 1929. They probably also took the designation that has been established since then.
