Djed-nefer-Re Dedumose (also Djedneferre Dedumose ) was an ancient Egyptian king ( pharaoh ) of the Second Intermediate Period . Its exact classification is uncertain.

supporting documents

It has been suggested that this ruler is identical to Djedhotepre Dedumose and that he changed his throne name during his reign. This is possible, but not provable.

The proper name Dedumose still appears on a stele from Edfu and in a graffito near Elkab . These documents cannot be assigned with certainty to this or to Djedhotepre Dedumose.

The name Djed-nefer-Re Dedumose, a combination of throne and proper name, appears only with certainty on a stele made of gels . His name may be found on limestone fragments from the Mentuhotep II temple in Deir el-Bahari , but these fragments are very destroyed.

In the royal papyrus of Turin the name […] ms is preserved, which possibly refers to one of these rulers.

Manetho reports that under a king Toutimaos, Egypt was conquered by the Hyksos . There have been attempts to identify this Toutimaos with Dedumose, but these have been rejected by various authors, mostly for philological reasons.

Von Beckerath places the ruler in the 13th dynasty , Ryholt in the 16th dynasty.
