Dmitri Jakowlew ( Russian Дмитрий Яковлев , English transcription : Dmitriy Yakovlev, born January 18, 1988 in Alma-Ata ) is a Kazakh beach volleyball player .

Career

Yakovlev first played some satellite and challenger tournaments with Alexei Sidorenko in 2008, before he took part in a FIVB World Tour tournament for the first time at the Dubai Open and finished 33rd. In 2009 he played twice with Sidorenko. In 2010 he completed three more open tournaments in Shanghai , Mysłowice and Prague with Alexei Kulinitsch . In the following year he formed a new duo with Alexei Kuleschow . While Jakowlew / Kuleschow did not get past 41st place on the 2011 World Tour, they finished fifth in the Asian Cup. In 2012 they also played their first Grand Slams and came in 33rd place in Gstaad and Berlin . They finished the 2012 Asian Cup in ninth place. In 2013 they achieved 25th place in Corrientes as their best result so far . At the World Cup in Stare Jabłonki they were eliminated without a win after the preliminary round.
