Dmitri Bykov

Dmitri Bykov taught literature and the history of Soviet literature at high schools in Moscow. He was a professor at the Department of World Literature and Culture at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations . As a journalist and critic, Bykow has been writing for the magazines Ogonyok and Novaya Gazeta since 1993 . He also regularly hosts a show on the Echo Moskvy radio station .

In 2011 Bykov took part in the parodistic project The Poet and the Burger (later Mr. Tüchtig ), in which Mikhail Yefremov read his current poems, written in the manner of the great Russian poets, to comment on current political events in Russia. He parodied the political situation in Russia in the literary program “Grashdanin Poet”, which was extremely popular during the 2011/12 protest movement . In order to discredit him as “for sale” in 2013, an action was started in the vicinity of the troll factory , in which he should have “supported” a fictitious candidate in a local election, which was presented to him as an “artist talk”.

In September 2015 the program Hundertvorlesungen mit Dmitri Bykov on the television channel " Doschd " started. In the cycle of literary lectures, Dmitri Bykow tells about Russian literature from 1900 to 1999; each program describes in detail a single work published in the respective year. As part of the cycle, Bykow also reads generalized lectures that are not tied to a specific year, and also focuses on individual works for children and adolescents.

He called Kremlin propagandists such as Dmitri Kisselev Vladimir Soloviev the "murderers of the Russian nation" because they unleashed the "ugliest instincts" with their hate propaganda.
