The Dniester Bahn 3–8 were the only Austrian double-coupled tender locomotives without additional running axles. They were ordered from Krauss in Munich by the Dniester Bahn in 1872 .

The six machines were given the company numbers 3 to 8 and the names DROHOBYCZ , BORYSLAW , STRYJ , DNIESTER , LWÓW and PRZEMYSL .

In 1876 the Dniester Railway was nationalized and the kkStB ran on it from 1884. The six locomotives were initially classified as 80.01-06 , but in 1894 they were re-designated as 31.11-16 . Around 1888, the machines were re-boiler, which also reduced the weight of the vehicles. The table shows the dimensions with new boilers. The locomotives were retired from 1897 to 1899.
