Dodonowo ( Russian Додоново [ dɐˈdonəvə ], ) is a settlement (possjolok) in the Krasnoyarsk region ( Russia ) with 700 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010). It lies on the right bank of the Yenisei .
Dodonowo was founded in 1949 in connection with the construction of the nuclear facility in what is now the closed town of Zheleznogorsk . At this point, an initially provisional settlement was built for the first construction workers of the plant and the city as well as their families. Thus the story of Zheleznogorsk begins in the settlement of Dodonowo.
The settlement with an old and a new part belongs to the city district of Zheleznogorsk. On the one hand, the place has a modern infrastructure , on the other hand , economic facilities from the Soviet era are no longer used and agricultural areas are hardly cultivated.
Dodonowo is known as a place in which a number of dialects and languages are mixed: there, due to the very different origins of the inhabitants, Central Russian dialects are spoken mixed Ukrainisms , Polonisms and Germanisms .
