The Doerflervilla stands at the confluence of Dr.-Martin-Luther-Platz with Schulhausstraße in Weißenburg in the central Franconian district of Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen . It is located near the central school , opposite the fortifications of the listed old town of Weißenburg. The building has the address Schulhausstraße 10 and is registered under the monument number D-5-77-177-427 as a monument in the Bavarian monument list.

The classicistic complex was built in 1872 by Wilhelm Troeltsch based on designs by Eugen Waidenschlager. In 1904 the apartments of the mayor and the chief doctor of the city were in the building. From this time on, the villa was named after the medical officer Hans Doerfler , chief physician of the Weißenburg hospital. In 1985 the city of Weißenburg decided to demolish the structure, but this was prevented by an initiative by the chairman of the Franconian Union, Gustav Mödl. The building was then renovated from 1988 to 1989.
