The Dog Lake ( English for " dog lake") is a highly indented lake in the Algoma District in the Canadian province of Ontario .

The 53 km² Dog Lake is drained by the Michipicoten River to the southwest to the Upper Lake . An important tributary is the Dog River . The small town of Missanabie is located on the northeastern shore of the lake.

Dog Lake is considered good fishing water. The following types of fish are caught in the lake: eyeglasses , pike , American char and black bass .
