The Dogger Bay is an icy, 26 km long and 8 km wide bay at the Lars Christensen Coast of the East Antarctic Mac Robertson Lands . It lies between the Foley Promontory and the Landon Promontory on the west side of the Amery Ice Shelf .
Aerial photos from 1956 of a campaign by the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions (ANARE) were used to map them. An ANARE team led by the glaciologist Ian Hamilton Landon-Smith (* 1937) visited them with dog sleds in November 1962. The Antarctic Names Committee of Australia (ANCA) named them after the English slang term Doggers for a dog sled team.
