The Doha 2006 (ex Club Med , ex Maiden II , ex Qatar 2006 ) is a maxi catamaran that was specially developed and built for offshore regattas .

The yacht was specially built by the French shipyard Multiplast for the regatta " The Race " and set sail in May 2000 under the name Club Med on its maiden voyage . The aim of the design was to take part in regattas and achieve top performances. The sister boat is the Orange (see Bruno Peyron ).

The catamaran has been renamed several times in the past:

• Club Med (2000–2001), under skipper Grant Dalton (regatta " The Race "; record on the Route de la Découverte )
• Maiden II (2002-2004), under Skipper Tracy Edwards and Brian Thompson
• Qatar 2006 , renaming of the boat to advertise the 2006 Asian Games in Qatar (English Qatar )
• Doha 2006 (since 2005), under Brian Thompson (regatta " Oryx Quest ")
