Dolmen de Barbehère

The largely undamaged dolmen is a typical Stone Age megalithic complex of the region, which, erected above ground, is architecturally close to a gallery grave . The chamber, which is off-center in the round hill, consists of seven bearing stones of different lengths and originally three cap stones. However, the monument has been preserved without cap stones and is about 6.3 m long, slightly trapezoidal and on average about 2.0 m wide. It has a short antechamber. The two side access panels have been machined on the inside. Traces of red ocher have been found that could be remnants of rock paintings such as those found in dolmens in the west of the Iberian Peninsula .
