The dolmen of Min Goh Ru (also Mongouru, or Min-Go-Ruh; ( German  "Old Red Stones" ) or Dolmen of Larcuste ) are located in the granite heights of the Landes de Lanvaux , about 250 m northeast of Larcuste , 20 km north from Vannes in the Morbihan department in Brittany in France . The burial mounds , restored in 1972 by Joël Lecornec and Jean L'Helgouach (1933–2000), dominate a small hill (120 m above sea level). In France, dolmen is the generic term for megalithic structures of all kinds (see: French nomenclature ).

  • Hill I contains two parallel dolmens in a terraced stone hill set with facing stones. The oval chambers and the short corridors consist of supporting stones connected with wide intermediate masonry. The right dolmen has a large cover plate, the left was probably a cupola grave that collapsed.
  • Hill II comprises six chambers on either side of a 9.7 m long corridor.

Finds

Shattered pottery and flint artifacts were found in chambers or in front of the facilities. The pottery shows similarities to the Chasséen des Midi and Carn pottery . Joël Lecornec and Jean L'Helgouach put the system between 3600 and 3200.

There were five C 14 determines data. GIF 2828 is considered contaminated.

  • GIF 2435: 3980 + 110 BP, charcoal in front of the facade of the hill
  • GIF 2454: 4610 ± 110 BP, chamber f
  • GIF 2826: 5490 ± 120 BP, corridor chambers a and b
  • GIF 2827: 4060 ± 120 BP, hearth
  • GIF 2828: 2230 ± 100 BP, entrance corridor.

7.2 kilometers north of Larcuste is the 6.5 m high menhir of Kermarquer with ax and sickle engravings.
