The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Abuja ( lat. : Archidioecesis Abugensis ) is in Nigeria located Metropolitan Diocese of the Roman Catholic Church .

history

The forerunner of today's Archdiocese of Abuja is the Sui Iuris Abuja Mission founded on November 6, 1981 from the Diocese of Minna . In 1989 Pope John Paul II raised him to the diocese of Abuja; on March 26, 1994 the elevation to the archbishopric.

The suffragan dioceses Diocese of Idah , Diocese of Lafia , Diocese of Lokoja , Diocese of Makurdi and Diocese of Otukpo are assigned .
