Peyrelevade dolmen

The dolmen of Peyrelevade (also called dolmen of Prézat ) is located south of Paussac-et-Saint-Vivien , near the D93 between St. Vivien and Paussac near Périgueux in the Dordogne department in France . In France, dolmen is the generic term for Neolithic megalithic structures of all kinds (see: French nomenclature ).

The dolmen consists of a layered red-brown / black capstone, which lies on five limestone bearing stones about 2.0 meters above the ground and covers a chamber of about 3.0 × 2.0 m. A fallen capstone and a second chamber are at the western end. There are other big stones. Perhaps it was once a much larger dolmen with multiple chambers.

Nearby is the pseudodolmen Peyre d'Ermale .
