Prunaiola dolmen

The dolmen of Prunaiola is located on a small plateau near Torralba west of the national road 131 Carlo Felice, near the giant tomb of Cabu Abbas and two Domus de Janas in the province of Sassari in north-west Sardinia . The dolmen is assigned to the Neolithic (3500 / 3300-2900 BC) Ozieri culture .

The Prunaiola dolmen was composed of three trachyte blocks and is a classic example of Sardinian dolmens. The simple dolmen consists of the large ceiling slab that rests on two rocks. An abstract clay female statuette measuring 3.15 × 2.2 cm was found near the dolmen and is kept in the Museo Nazionale GA Sanna in Sassari .

The Domus de Janas of Prunaiola and the dolmen Su Crastu Covaccadu are nearby .
