Runara dolmen

The Runara Dolmen is located in the archaeological area of Runara on an approximately 500 m high hill at the end of a series of nuraghi , north of the SS 131 road to the east of Ittiri in the province of Sassari in Sardinia .

The restored dolmen , stabilized with steel girders, consists of large, roughly square slabs, as they are particularly typical of the megalithic structures in the northern half of Sardinia ( Sa Coveccada ). The roughly cuboid monument consists of two trachyte plates, 2.5 m long and 2.0 m high, sunk vertically into the ground , on which the only ceiling plate rests. At the rear end of the dolmen is still closed in situ by an end plate . The former front plate lies on the floor.

Nearby are the Domus de Janas of Sa Figu .
