Dominic James Imhof (* 28. July 1982 in Grande Prairie , Canada ) is a Canadian football player with Swiss ancestry .

Career

Imhof started his career with his hometown club BV United Smithers Gunners in Alberta, Canada. He also has a Swiss passport and played for the youth team of FC St. Gallen from 2001 to 2004 . His brother Daniel was on his professional team at the time . In 2004 he moved to FC Gossau and rose with the club in 2007 in the Challenge League . After promotion he played no role at Gossau and joined the third division club FC Tuggen in January 2008 . After he failed in the promotion round to the Challenge League with Tuggen in 2009, he switched to league rivals FC Rapperswil-Jona during the summer break , but where he was not happy and returned to FC Tuggen for the second half of 2010. In January 2012 he turned his back on FC Tuggen and signed with his former club FC Gossau. After half a year he signed a 6 month contract for FC Bazenheid in June 2012. In December 2012 Imhof turned his back on Switzerland and went back to his Canadian youth club BV United Smithers Gunners.

In May 2009 Imhof was appointed to the Canadian national team for the first time and made his international debut as a substitute later in a friendly against Cyprus on May 30.
