Dominik Glawogger (born April 2, 1990 in Graz ) is an Austrian football player , coach and official .

Career as a coach

Glawogger gained his first experience as a football coach at the age of 17 when he was in charge of a youth team at SC Seiersberg between 2007 and 2009 . Between 2009 and 2012 he coached the U17s at SV Pachern , then he worked as a junior coach at SV Peggau until 2014 .

In June 2012 Glawogger trained at the ÖFB as a youth coach, in 2016 he completed the UEFA B license and has been completing the UEFA A license since October 2017 .

In 2015, at the age of 25, Glawogger ended up in Germany, where the Styrian at the Stuttgarter Kickers, in addition to a position in the management of the club, also trained a junior team and accompanied them to several international tournaments. His most exciting station was from January to June 2016, when Glawogger took over the Toto African SC in Tanzania , East Africa , and led the team as head coach to 13th place in the table and thus to stay in the Vodacom Premier League despite the lowest budget in the entire league .

In the spring season 2016/2017, Glawogger, who was managing director of Floridsdorfer AC at the time, was appointed interim head coach of the combat team by the supervisory board of the Bundesliga club. The team finished last in the table after 30 rounds, before Glawogger only lost one of six games and thus secured relegation.

Glawogger trained for the Bundesliga team at the age of 27, making him the youngest professional trainer in Austria. This was made possible by a special period of 60 days, which allows a coach without a UEFA Pro license (or UEFA A license "old") - this is required in the 2nd division - to look after a team on an interim basis. Logically, Glawogger had to return to his actual position as managing director of the club after successfully relegating.

In June 2018, the German second division Holstein Kiel signed him as the new head coach of the U19 team, which further advanced the professionalization of the club's own junior performance center. In the same month Glawogger successfully completed the examination for the UEFA A license at the Austrian Football Association . In his first season with Holstein Kiel, Glawogger's team achieved the championship title and record points and thus the immediate return to the A-Junior Bundesliga . After the 2019/20 season, he left Kiel. In July 2020, he became the coach of the Vitória Guimarães reserve in Portugal .

Career as a manager

After graduating from high school, Glawogger successfully completed a bachelor's degree in business administration at the University of Graz . Between 2013 and 2015 he completed a master’s degree in “Business in Emerging Markets” at the FH Joanneum Graz , which he also completed with a positive result and has since been awarded the title “ Master of Arts ”.

Glawogger has also been involved in soccer summer camps since 2010. In 2011 he founded the Glawogger football school , which until 2015 offered over 300 children their own training camps and individual training in the summer.

In summer 2015, Glawogger was team manager at SLFC GmbH, responsible for the organization and handling of the training camps for Asteras Tripoli , FC Heidenheim and SC Paderborn . In the following fall of 2015, Glawogger worked in marketing at the Stuttgarter Kickers .

At the end of 2016, Glawogger moved to Floridsdorfer AC , where he was initially responsible for business and sporting matters as administrative manager and from January 2017 as managing director. In September 2017, the Floridsdorfer AC and Glawogger separated by mutual agreement, but the chairman of the Floridsdorfer AC supervisory board , Michael Schüch , praised Glawogger's work shortly afterwards in a TV interview .

After the mutual separation, Glawogger was without a club for a few months and during this time completed the UEFA A license and sat in on foreign clubs, including FC Empoli .

Career as a player

Glawogger began his career at SV Frohnleiten . After playing at SV Übelbach , he moved to SC Kalsdorf . The midfielder then played at SV Thal , SC Seiersberg , SV Pachern , SV Peggau and SK Werndorf . In 2015 he moved to the middle league for LUV Graz . He played five championship games for Graz. In the summer of 2016, Glawogger transferred to FC Zeltweg , and in the following winter to SV Unterstinkenbrunn . He has been registered with UFC Sieggraben since July 2017 . In total, Glawogger has already played 197 games in a fighting team and scored eleven goals.
