Dominik Landwehr
Dominik Landwehr (* 1958 in Zurich ) is a Swiss journalist , author , media and cultural worker . From 1998 to 2019 he was head of the Pop & New Media department at Migros Culture Percentage in Zurich.
Life
After graduating from high school, Dominik Landwehr studied German and cultural studies. He finished his studies in 1983 with the licensed thesis Ludwig Lavater's Ghost Book of 1569 in the context of contemporary popular literature from Zurich with Rudolf Schenda . He then worked as an editor and journalist for television, radio and print media. His favorite subjects were new media , computer culture and pop music . Between 1988 and 1991 he was a delegate of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) with missions in Pakistan, Thailand and Romania. In 2007 he received his doctorate from the Faculty of Philosophy and History at the University of Baselwith the work Mythos Enigma : The encryption machine as a collector's and media object . From 1998 to mid-2019 he was head of the “Pop and New Media” department at Migros Culture Percentage, where he was the editor of Edition Digital Culture and other publications. Landwehr was responsible, among other things, for the digitalbrainstorming internet platform , the bugnplay youth competition and the “digital culture” funding program.
Dominik Landwehr has been a publicist and consultant in the field of digitization, culture and the history of technology since summer 2019. Landwehr lives in Winterthur and is married to Susanne Landwehr-Sigg.

Awards
The Edition Digital Culture book series, initiated and published by Landwehr and published by Christoph Merian Verlag Basel from 2014 to 2019 , was awarded the Prize for the Most Beautiful Books 2019 by the Federal Office of Culture in 2020 . The book series was designed by the award-winning graphic artists Ivan Sterzinger and Gregor Huber
