Hedy Graber

Hedy Graber (* 1961 ) is a Swiss manager . Since 2004 she has been head of the Culture and Social Department at the Federation of Migros Cooperatives . In this function, she is responsible for organizing the cultural and social projects of the Migros Culture Percentage . The Engagement Migros development fund was established under her leadership in 2012 . She is considered to be one of the most influential people in private Swiss cultural funding . In 2015 she was voted European Cultural Manager of the Year.

Live and act

The daughter of Hedy Salquin , the first female Swiss conductor , and a businessman , grew up in Kriens . Graber studied art history and German literature at the University of Geneva and photography at the Ecole d'Arts Visuels.

After completing her studies, she became co-director of the Palazzo art gallery in Liestal in 1990 . She then worked at Galerie Fischer Auctions in Lucerne as director of the modern art department. In 1998 she took on the role of commissioner for cultural projects in the canton of Basel-Stadt , before moving to Zurich in 2004 as head of the cultural and social department at the Federation of Migros Cooperatives .
