Dominik des Enffans d'Avernas

Dominik Reichsgraf des Enffans d'Avernas (* 1847 , † 1924 ) was a Belgian - Austrian nobleman and president of the Catholic Press Association in the diocese of Graz-Seckau .

He came from the Catholic family of the Enffans d'Avernas, a noble family from the former Duchy of Brabant based in Ghyssegnies , Belgium.

The family came to Austria through marriage and service for the Habsburgs and was raised to the count of the Holy Roman Empire in 1805 as Count des Enffans and Lord of Ghyssegnies, later Count des Enffans d'Avernas with seat in the Styrian lordship of Neuschloss Castle (municipality of Wundschuh ) and Freibühel (municipality of Hengsberg ).

Dominik came from the marriage of Karl Graf des Enffans d'Avernas and Marie Countess von Brandis from an old Tyrolean noble family. He was the oldest of eight children.

Life

At the age of eight, Dominik inherited the property in Belgium from his late father. After marrying his cousin Anna, he came into the possession of Neuschloß and in 1862 he inherited the Freibühel Palace from his grandfather.

Since 1888 he was an honorary member of the Catholic student association KÖHV Carolina Graz in the ÖCV .
