Dominion III is a music project from Austria .

history

The project was founded in 1998 by Tharen (Alexander Opitz). This happened shortly after his other band Dargaard released their debut album. Dominion III seemed to him the suitable form of expression of his feelings in an intensified electronic style. As with Dargaard , Elisabeth Toriser also contributed her voice here.

Tharen gave her debut album The Hand and the Sword a style of apocalyptic electronic music. This music was very expressive and harsh and dealt with dark and angry aspects of life. Tharen's music often shows these traits that come from his black metal background. The band got a contract with Napalm Records , as did Tharen's other projects.

The second release came two years after The Hand and the Sword and was called Life Has Ended Here . This album went more into the electro direction and was also significantly more influenced by the guitar. That was because the guitarist Jörg Lanz from Tharen's band Amestigon joined them. The music continued to show its aggressive nature combined with dark soundscapes.

Tharen said that the band might want to switch to another music label that is more focused on electronic music. The relationship with Napalm Records is still good.
