Don't Leave Me Now is a song by British rock band Pink Floyd from the 1979 concept album The Wall . The song was also released as the B-side of Run Like Hell .

content

Like all other songs from The Wall , Don't Leave Me Now tells part of the story of the protagonist Pink , who erects an imaginary wall to protect himself from emotional influences.

After Pink found out at the end of Young Lust that his wife was cheating on him and invited a groupie in One of My Turns , which he quickly scared away by destroying the hotel room, Pink fell into a depression. Despite all the difficulties, he tries to convince his wife not to leave him, but in vain. This leads to his completing his wall in Another Brick in the Wall and Goodbye Cruel World and finally withdrawing from the public eye.

music

In Don't Leave Me Now , almost all of the notes are played at random. The pace of the song is mostly very slow.

Movie

The film first shows a section in Pink's hotel room, then at Pink's pool. There Pink can be seen floating on the water. He cut his arm in One of My Turns during his tantrum, so blood drips into the water, turning it red.

Shortly afterwards you can see Pink sitting in his hotel room watching the film May 1943 - The Destruction of the Dams . The shadow of Pink's wife appears in the background, before she transforms into a monster in the form of a fishing rod, which also appears in The Trial and then turns into a flower in the form of a vulva from What Shall We Do Now? - that song is not on the album - transformed.

At the end, Pink can be seen crouching desperately in a corner.
