prehistory
The album was originally supposed to be called Invinsible and was due out in 2011. A corresponding single entitled Invisible was released on August 9, 2011 and reached number 86 in the German charts. Skylar Gray, however, discarded some of the songs that had already been recorded, changed the album title and concept and postponed the release of the sound carrier.
production
Skylar Grey's label boss Alex da Kid and rapper Eminem acted as executive producers for Don't Look Down . In addition, some beats were produced by JR Rotem , Jayson DeZuzio, Ill Factor, Mike Del Rio and Skylar Gray.
Cover design
The album cover shows Skylar Gray standing in a kitchen with his back turned to the viewer. She supports herself with her hands on the stove and dishwasher and looks down. A blood-smeared ax lies in front of her.

There are guest appearances by other artists on three of the twelve songs on the album. The rapper Eminem can be heard on the song C'mon Let Me Ride and the rapper Angel Haze appears on the track Shit, Man! in appearance. The track Back from the Dead is a collaboration with rapper Big Sean and drummer Travis Barker .
