Don Dohler

Don Dohler (born January 27, 1946 in Baltimore , Maryland , † December 2, 2006 in Perry Hall , Maryland) was an American director .

Life

Don Dohler began his film career as a child. In the 1960s and 1970s, he mainly made short films . His first feature film, Alien Factor , was released in 1978. Other works were Fear of the Lost (1980), Nightbeast - Terror from Space (1982), Galaxy Invader (1985) and Blood Massacre (1987). Then he retired as a director for a few years. During this time he worked on various film magazines and wrote several books on filmmaking. In 2001 he shot Alien Factor 2: The Alien Rampage, a sequel to his first work.

Dohler founded the film production company "Timewarp Films" in Perry Hall, Maryland in 2000 together with Joe Ripple .

Don Dohler died on December 2, 2006 after months of fighting cancer . His last film, Dead Hunt , was released posthumously.

Troma Entertainment dedicated the retrospective Blood, Boobs & Beast (2007) to Don Dohler .
