Donald E. "Don" Scott (born July 23, 1928 in Derby ; † February 13, 2013 ) was a British light heavyweight boxer .

amateur

Scott won in 1948 at the Olympic Games in London , the silver medal in the light heavyweight division. In the final he was defeated by the South African George Hunter . In 1950 he won the gold medal at the British Empire Games in the same weight class.

professional

Scott turned pro in 1950. He lost his first fight against his compatriot Ray Wilding on April 4, 1950 in London by a technical knockout in the fifth round. In 1951 he managed a series of six knockout victories. On February 16, 1953, he fought for the vacant title of British Midland Area light heavyweight champion against Ted Morgan. His last professional fight, a point win after eight rounds, he completed on April 13, 1953 against his compatriot Wally Curtis.
