Donald Michael Kraig

Donald Michael Kraig (born August 17, 1951 in Chicago , Illinois , † March 17, 2014 in Los Angeles , California ) was an American occultist and author. Kraig has published six books, including his introduction to ceremonial magic, Modern Magick , published in 1988 . He also contributed to Fate Magazine , as well as its main publisher, Llewellyn Worldwide .

biography

Kraig graduated from UCLA with a degree in philosophy and studied speaking and music at other colleges and universities. He was initiated into the Aridian Witchcraft by the author Raven Grimassi , and the American Traditionalist Witchcraft by Scott Cunningham .

After a decade of self-taught study paired with practice, he gave courses in Southern California and at Neopagan festivals as well as events on topics such as Kabbalah , Tarot , Magick , and the Lovecraft myth, psychological development and tantra , and was an initiated Tantrist of an AMOOKOS - Headed Lodge , an east-west tantric occult group.

Kraig was a member of several spiritual and magical groups. He was a professional musician ( organist , synthesist, keyboardist , theremin player ) and singer. He taught computer skills at the University of Southern California and became a member of The Magic Castle in Hollywood . He was awarded the title of Certified Tarot Grand Master by the Associated Readers of Tarot. He was an editor for Fate Magazine . Kraig was under contract with Llewellyn Publications (now Llewellyn Worldwide ), the publisher or co-publisher of his major works, articles, and phonograms; he also became an editor for The Llewellyn Journal in 2001 and Llewellyn's New Worlds in 2003 .

He received training and certification as a clinical hypnotherapist from the American Board of Hypnotherapy (ABH), the National Guild of Hypnotists (NGH), and the Association for Integrative Psychology (AIP). He was also a certified hypnosis instructor at ABH and a master practitioner at NLP .

Kraig was a guest on many radio shows such as Coast to Coast AM with George Noory, Personal Life Media, The Deviant Minds Salon, Pagans Tonight! on BlogTalk Radio, Right Where You Are Sitting Now, and Occultists Radio.

Kraig died of pancreatic cancer on March 17, 2014 .
