Donat de Chapeaurouge

Donat de Chapeaurouge (born October 20, 1925 in Reinbek ; † October 9, 2019 ) was a German art historian , curator and university professor .

Life

Donat de Chapeaurouge came from the Chapeaurouge family . He was the son of Donat Victor de Chapeaurouge (1886–1974) and Gertrud, b. Hayn (1895-1977). Since 1956 he was married to Felicitas geb. from Nippold; the marriage resulted in two children.

He studied at the High School after his Gelehrtenschule the Johanneum in Hamburg at the University of Hamburg and the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-University of Bonn , where he in 1953 with the dissertation studies on the art of Chardin for Dr. phil. received his doctorate. At the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen he completed his habilitation in 1973 with the font Change and Constance in the Meaning of Borrowed Motifs . He was a professor of art history at the Bergische Universität Wuppertal .
