Donato Giuseppe Frisoni

Donato Giuseppe Frisoni (* 1683 in Laino near Como ; † November 29, 1735 in Ludwigsburg ) was an Italian builder.

Career

Frisoni came from an old family of builders; u. a. he was the cousin of Maurizio Pedetti . After a short training in his parents' company, he went to Prague as a plasterer . From there in 1709 Tommaso Soldati brought him to Ludwigsburg to the construction site of a palace for Duke Eberhard Ludwig .

From 1709 Frisoni was entrusted there with the management of its own construction team. From 1717, under Frisoni's leadership, the plans for the royal seat of Ludwigsburg and the Weingarten Abbey (renovations) were made. His first major work after his appointment as "Landbaumeister" was the Favorite Palace , which was built under his construction management from 1717 ; the completion was celebrated in 1723.

In 1726 Frisoni was appointed "Lieutenant Colonel". After Duke Eberhard Ludwig died on October 31, 1733, his successor, Duke Karl Alexander , accused Frisoni of embezzling and embezzling building funds and fired him. He came to the Hohenurach fortress , later to the Hohenneuffen , but was released and rehabilitated in 1735. During his imprisonment, Johann Anton von Herbort was entrusted with the management of the Württemberg construction industry.
