Dong Xue ( Chinese  董雪 , Pinyin Dǒng Xuě ; born August 17, 1986 in Jilin ) is a Chinese biathlete .

Career

Dong has been running biathlon since 1999 . She is trained by Liang Liu and René Altenburger-Koch . The sports soldier lives in Dalian and competes for the Chinese biathlon association. It was first used in 2004 in Lake Placid in the World Cup. She won first points at the following World Cup station in Fort Kent as 20th in the sprint and 27th in the following pursuit. Her breakthrough to the top of the world came at the beginning of the 2006/07 season. At the first World Cup station in Östersund , she came in sprint and pursuit in 12th and 11th place, at the following World Cup in Hochfilzen in seventh place in the sprint and thus for the first time among the top ten. With 24th place in the overall ranking of the World Cup, she also achieved her best result there of the season. With 37th place in the pursuit at the Biathlon World Championships in 2008 in Östersund, Dǒng achieved her best World Championship result in an individual race the following season. At the beginning of the 2009 season , she got off to a strong start. In Östersund she finished 30th in the individual and 15th in the sprint and also came in 36th in the points in Hochfilzen.
