historical upper reaches of the Amer

The Donge is a stream or in the lower reaches of the river in the Dutch province of Noord-Brabant . It rises as Leij from several sources east of the village of Baarle-Nassau , which is intertwined with the Belgian exclave Baarle-Hertog . It initially flows north-northeast towards Tilburg , and then bends to the northwest at the city limits. The name Donge begins where it crosses the road and railway line between Tilburg and Breda . At Dongen it crosses the Wilhelmina Canal . After six kilometers it bends to the west, while part of its water branches off straight north towards the Bergsche Maas . At Geertruidenberg it unites with the much larger Bergsche Maas to form the Amer .
