Ivan Baan
Iwan Baan (born February 8, 1975 in Alkmaar , Kingdom of the Netherlands ) is a Dutch photographer .
Life
Baan grew up near Amsterdam and studied photography at the Koninklijke Academie van Beeldende Kunsten in The Hague . after graduating, he has worked as a documentary photographer both in Europe and in New York City . In 2005 he went to Beijing as a photographer . He documented the architectural firm OMA by Rem Koolhaas building the headquarters of Chinese state television CCTV . He also documented the construction of the national stadium in Beijing , based on the design by Herzog & de Meuron . The new building of the Blavatnik School of Government in Oxford , England , also planned by Herzog & de Meuron, was documented by Baan in 2015.
Since 2008, Baan has published almost twenty illustrated books on a wide variety of construction projects around the world. His photo reports appear regularly in international newspapers and magazines.

- 2010: Julius Shulman Photography Award .
- 2012: Golden Lion at the Venice Architecture Biennale .
- 2016: Stephen A. Kliment Oculus Award from AIA New York City.
