Donna Corcoran

Donna Corcoran (born September 29, 1942 in Quincy , Massachusetts ) is an American child actress who starred in over a dozen films and television series in the 1950s. She played her best-known role in 1952 at the side of Marilyn Monroe in Temptation on 809 .

Life

Donna Corcoran was born on September 29, 1942, to one of eight siblings in Quincy, Massachusetts. In 1951 she got her first film role in Angels in the Outfield at the side of Paul Douglas and Janet Leigh . In 1952 she had an uncredited appearance in the love comedy Die Süße Trap . Three of her younger siblings later also became actors: Noreen (1943-2016), Kevin (1949-2015) and Kelly Corcoran (1958-2002).

Donna Corcoran had her best-known film appearance in 1952 in the role of Bunny Jones on the side of Marilyn Monroe in the thriller Temptation on 809 . In addition, she was seen in the two music films The Golden Mermaid and The Water Princess with Esther Williams in 1952 and 1953 . 1953 Corcoran played the eponymous lead role as the orphan Patsy in Jean Negulesco's drama Scandal about Patsy , in which Greer Garson and Walter Pidgeon impersonated their adoptive parents.

In addition to her film career, Corcoran also appeared as a guest in several television series. In 1955 she ended her film career at the age of thirteen with a role in The Castle in the Shadow at the side of Stewart Granger , but continued to appear in television series until 1963, including one episode each of Wells Fargo and My Three Sons . Since the death of Noreen Corcoran in January 2016, she has been the last living of the four Corcoran siblings who were once active as actors.
