Donville Inniss

Donville O. Inniss is a politician from Barbados from the Democratic Labor Party (DLP), that of the since 2008 Member of the House of Assembly and, since 2013 Minister of Industry, International Enterprise, Trade and development of small enterprises in the Cabinet of Prime Minister of Barbados Freundel Stuart was .

Life

Inniss began after the school at Harrison College and the Community College to study Management Science at the University of the West Indies , Cave Hill Campus, which he with a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) graduated. There he also completed a postgraduate degree in management , which he completed with a Master of Business Administration (MBA). He also took various training courses in the areas of investment promotion, taxation, law and finance.

He was a corporate development employee at BIDC (Barbados Investment and Development Corporation) before working as a manager in the areas of economic development, international corporations and export promotion, including three years in South Korea and New York City . He was then Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Managing Director and Chairman of the Board of several Barbados-based companies operating in Latin America , Europe , Africa and Asia . Most recently he founded his own company in the field of international business in 1999.

In the elections of January 15, 2008 Inniss was elected as a candidate of the Democratic Labor Party (DLP) for the first time to a member of the Legislative Assembly, where he represented the constituency of St. James South .

After Prime Minister David Thompson's election victory in January 2008, Inniss was initially appointed Minister of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Enterprises, but then took over the post of Minister of Health in November 2008 as part of a government reshuffle . Since October 23, 2010, he has also held this ministerial office in the government of Freudel Stuart, who had taken over the office of Prime Minister after Thompson's death.

From March 2013 he was Minister of Industry, International Business, Commerce and Small Business Development in the Stuart cabinet until its replacement in May 2018.

His marriage to Gail Inniss had two sons.
