Dorette Corbey

Dorothea Jeanette Maria Corbey , called Dorette Corbey (born July 19, 1957 in Eindhoven ) is a Dutch politician of the social democratic party Partij van de Arbeid . She has been a member of the European Parliament in the group of the Party of European Socialists for this party since 1999 .

Corbey trained as a nurse from 1975 to 1979, a profession she worked in for about a decade. From 1981 to 1987 she studied geography and international politics at the University of Amsterdam . From 1988 onwards she worked for four years as a researcher for the Dutch Institute for International Relations Clingersael . In 1993 she also completed her doctorate in law at the Reich University of Leiden on the European integration process. From 1991 to 1994 she was visiting professor at the Royal Institute for Navy in Den Helder . In her work as a nurse, the union approached, where she then found a job, and was employed as a manager of the Federatie Nederlandse Vak Moving (FNV). Her involvement in trade unions lasted until she entered the European Parliament in 1999.
