The Dorfer Feuergraben (sometimes only Feuergraben ) is a flowing body of water in the Austrian city of Dornbirn , which is located near "Rhombergs Factory", on Färbergasse at about 420 m above sea level. A. , rises and flows across the Forach .
Source, course of estuary, geology, geography
The Dorfer Feuergraben begins at water kilometers (GwKm) 0.89 and flows about 400 m from east to west. At around GwKm 0.75, the Dorfer Feuergraben crosses under the Müllerbach without noticeably absorbing water. It is then turned underground at Forachstrasse (shortly after house No. 9) to the north and flows from here in a relatively straight line to the confluence with the Müllerbach.
With the exception of the confluence with the Müllerbach, the Dorfer Feuergraben does not show any significant gradients, washouts or waterfalls and, with regard to the amount of water, is heavily dependent on the previous rainfall and thins out during longer dry periods.
In the upper area after the source (GwKm 0.89), the water is still relatively natural (revitalized) and is largely supplied with water from the source. In the middle area (from around GwKm 0.60) to near the mouth (GwKm 0.05) it is straightened, partly piped and partly framed with concrete slabs and can be described as alien.
The Dorfer Feuergraben has only a few insignificant tributaries, which are not recorded by name and mainly serve to drain land parcels after periods of rain.
The Dorfer Feuergraben flows into the Müllerbach (at 411 m above sea level ) at a river kilometer 0.01 over an approx. 3 m gradient .
The Dorfer Feuergraben flows entirely through the municipality of Dornbirn and only through the Rohrbach district .
Economic use
The Dorfer Feuergraben was not used economically for mechanical drives. The purpose of the fire ditch was primarily to drain the reed and as a water reservoir, so as a "fire ditch" for fire.
