History and architecture

The neo-Gothic building from 1901 is a brick building. The recessed apse is rectangular. The designs come from the master builder Otto Witzeck , who was appointed to the building department of the Grand Ducal State Government in 1895 . Windows from 1719 have been preserved from the previous church, showing the coat of arms of Mecklenburg and biblical motifs. The church does not have a tower, the two steel bells hang in the raised west gable.

Furnishing

The remainder of a carved St. Mary's altar is a work from the end of the 15th century. It is decorated with an apocalyptic Madonna and twelve small figures of saints. The carved crucifix dates from the first half of the 15th century.

The octagonal baptismal font, called "Baptism" in the area of Babke, has the shape of a baptistery; it is equipped with corner pillars and a high lid in the shape of an onion dome. The "baptism" was created in the first half of the 17th century and is over two meters high.

The cabinet disks from 1719 partly show genre scenes.
