The village church Borgfeld is a church building in the district of Borgfeld in the municipality of Kriesow in the Mecklenburg Lake District . She belongs to the Ev.-Luth. Ivenack parish in the Neustrelitz provost of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Mecklenburg .

Building history

The brick building was erected in 1774. In 1902 Friedrich Schlie wrote in the chapter "Gut und Kirchdorf Borgfeld":

Finally, in 1750, after a sovereign order had been issued to the Patronus, the pastor HC Gerlach was appointed. But he gets his apartment on the farm in the village of Borgfeld, which von Plessen acquired through purchase. And finally he also succeeds in obtaining the sovereign permission to relocate the parish from Fahrenholz to Borgfeld as well as the permission to build a church in Borgfeld. The building was completed in 1774, the Fahrholz church and parish were destroyed, as did the Tüzener at one time, and Gerlach continued to work until the end of the 1880s. Century.

In the GDR the church fell into disrepair. From 1980 the church was no longer used. A support association was founded to maintain the building. In addition to church services, future use also includes cultural events. In 2008/2009 the church was renovated for 175,000 euros. The baroque sacred building was solemnly put into use again on April 26, 2009 in a festive service by regional bishop Andreas von Maltzahn .
