Dahmen village church
The Protestant village church Dahmen is an early Gothic brick church in Dahmen in the Rostock district in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . It belongs to the parish of Bülow-Rambow in the Rostock provost in the Rostock parish of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Northern Germany (Northern Church) .
History and architecture
The village church of Dahmen is a towerless, rectangular brick building from around 1300 with two bays, which is finished with busted cross rib vaults. The cross-vaulted sacristy is built on the north side. The gables of the tiled gable roof are decorated with panels; In addition to the panels, a central panel with a cross is arranged on the east side. A three-part pointed arch window is inserted in the east wall, the remaining pointed arch windows are two-part and one-part. A sundial is carved into the south wall of the church . In addition to a simple step portal in the west, there is also a smaller walled-up priest gate on the south wall.
A wooden belfry with a bell from 1614 is set up in the churchyard south of the church . This bell was stolen between October and November 2015, but was found and returned in 2016.
Furnishing
In the altar retable there are six panel pictures with passion scenes from a late Gothic altar from the late 15th century. The following Gothic carved wooden sculptures should also be mentioned: a seated Madonna from around 1300, a depiction of Anna the third of herself and a relief with the crucifixion from the 15th century.
A silver-gilt chalice from the 18th century serves as the liturgical equipment . There are two pewter candlesticks from 1648 and 1729.
