The church

The Evangelical-Lutheran village church Dobraschütz is in the district Dobraschütz of the community Starkenberg in the district Altenburger Land in Thuringia .

history

The small chapel that was once in the village was still mentioned in 1607. On May 3, 1751, the foundation stone for today's church with a pointed church tower was laid in place of the demolished building . The church was consecrated in 1752.

Redevelopment

2014 Award of a monument protection award as a group award by the Thuringian State Office for Monument Preservation and Archeology .

particularities

A special feature is the uniform painting in blue peasant baroque . Another special feature are four epitaphs and 13 skulls . These works of art date from between 1791 and 1811.

architecture

The church was changed and embellished in 1914. It has been completely renovated. The rededication took place on September 6, 1914.

It was not until 1989 that something could be done to maintain the church due to the lack of funds. In 1991 the roof was re-covered , the windows and the front door were replaced. In 2012 the interior was restored so that the church shines again as it once did.
