The Protestant village church Grubo is a late Romanesque stone church in the Grubo district of Wiesenburg / Mark in the Potsdam-Mittelmark district in Brandenburg . It belongs to the parish area Rädigke in the church district Mittelmark-Brandenburg of the Evangelical Church Berlin-Brandenburg-Schlesische Oberlausitz and can be visited after registration.

History and architecture

The village church of Grubo is a late Romanesque hall church made of field stone from the first half of the 13th century, with a retracted choir and almost equally wide, later raised apse . The choir and apse are built much earlier than the nave. The eastern parts consist of meticulous masonry in stone blocks; Above the west gable is a roof tower with a solid west side, an octagonal tower and a curved hood, probably from 1756. In 1903 the church was completely renovated. A restoration took place in 1990/1991. In 2019 the paintings in the apse were restored; half of this work was financed by the Potsdam-Mittelmark district. Two walled arched portals have been preserved on the south side. The west portal has probably been broken into recently. The high-seated small windows from the 13th century have been partially restored. The interior shows a rounded apse arch and a slightly pointed choir arch. The building was expanded uniformly in 1903 and designed in color; the ship is covered by a wooden barrel vault and equipped with west and south pores.

Furnishing

The former altarpiece from the end of the 17th century is back in the choir after the restoration in 1990/91. It shows a painting of the Last Supper between columns, in the blasted gable is a small image of the crucifixion, above a medallion with the resurrection. Four carved figures from an altar from around 1430 show Mary as the crowned bride enthroned next to Christ, flanked by Mary Magdalene and a holy bishop.

The organ is a work by Schuke Orgelbau from 1954 with ten stops on two manuals and pedal , which was brought here from the Elisabethkirche in Berlin-Mitte in 1996 .
