The Protestant village church Kiliansroda is located in the municipality of Kiliansroda in the Weimarer Land district in Thuringia . It belongs to the Buchfart parish in the Weimar parish of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .

The village church is centrally located in the village with a walled cemetery .

history

In 1381 the small, simple church was first mentioned in a document. After a fire in October 1802, the church and 28 houses were destroyed. The new church building was built on the foundation walls of the burned down church. The church still presents itself in this form for its inauguration in 1806.

In 1806 the Hereditary Grand Duchess Maria Pavlovna visited the small mountain village and arranged for the church roof and the cemetery wall to be repaired.

Building description

The nave is protected by a mansard roof . The pointed church tower as a roof turret also adorns the roof. The west entrance stands on the foundation walls of the front church. The windows are lead glazed, the interior is colored. There is an electric bench heater.

organ

organ

The organ was bought in Thangelstedt in 1832 , it comes from Johann Friedrich Schulze and has seven registers on a manual and pedal. It was repaired and enlarged during the implementation.

Bells

Two bells of bronze has the church, they are electrically rung in 1999.
