The village church in Klossa

description

Outbuildings

The small hall church has a straight east end in which there are three window openings. A medieval plaster carving has been preserved on the north side of the church . A window formerly on this side was bricked up. There are two ogival doors on the south side. In 1714 the windows of the building were enlarged. The tower of the church has a square floor plan and a slate-covered tail hood. The new construction of the tower and the cladding with slate took place in 1910, after the previous building from 1714 had become dilapidated.

Furnishing

In the interior of the church there is a block altar from the Middle Ages. The late Gothic altarpiece dates from the beginning of the 16th century. In the shrine of the altar, St. Stephen is depicted between St. Nicholas and James the Elder . On the inside of the wings there are painted representations of Mary Magdalene and a holy bishop. The weekday page shows the stoning of Stephen between St. Apollonia on the left, and Eugenia on the right. On the predella there are images of Anna selbdritt and two donors. In the church there is a chalice-shaped sandstone baptism, the upper part of which is dated to 1631. The wooden pulpit was renewed in 1714 in Baroque forms .
