The village church of Markwerben is a listed church in the Markwerben district of the city of Weißenfels in Saxony-Anhalt . It belongs to the parish Weissenfels-Nord in the church district Merseburg Evangelical Church in Central Germany . In the local register of monuments , the building is listed as a monument under registration number 094 13023 .

The village church of Markwerben, the namesake of the church is no longer known, is a choir tower church , also known as the east tower church. In a document dating from around 1400, the church is owned by the Halberstadt diocese . Today the church is characterized by a baroque exterior, but the core features of a Romanesque church have been preserved, such as the sound openings of the tower and cube capitals . The nave , which dates from 1741, has already been restored several times.

In front of the south side of the church are the war memorials for those killed in the First and Second World Wars .
