Meseberg village church

The Meseberg village church is a church in the Meseberg district of Gransee . The church is in the middle of the village on a hill. The Schloss Meseberg is located approximately 100 meters northeast of the church.

Building history / equipment

The church was built as a brick building at the beginning of the 16th century, today the church is plastered. In 1772 the church was rebuilt, including a master gallery and a crypt in the north of the church. The west tower was built in 1892. The tower was built in the neo- baroque style and has an onion dome .

Inside there is a plaster ceiling on a cove . On the gallery in the West is a 1892 by organ builder Albert Hollenbach from Neuruppin built organ . The altar was erected in 1772.

To the right of the altar is a monumental votive painting from 1588, which Ludwig von der Gröben (1529–1601), owner of Meseberg, Privy Councilor and Chief Chamberlain of Elector Johann Georg von Brandenburg , and his wife Anna née von Oppen († 1593) shows with her 15 children. On the votive picture, the creation of Eve, the fall and the resurrection of Christ are shown in the background.

Next one is in the Church Epitaph of sandstone for William of Gröben. There is a pulpit clock on the pulpit .

From 2012 to 2015 the church was extensively renovated and restored.

The church is a listed building.

The Meseberg parish belongs to the Upper Havelland parish of the Evangelical Church in Berlin-Brandenburg-Silesian Upper Lusatia .
