It belongs to the parish Niedergrunstedt in the parish association Buchfart-Legefeld in the parish of Weimar of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .

location

The church is located on the northeastern edge of the district north of Dorfstrasse.

history

The parish considers their church to be the oldest south of Weimar .

The church tower is still preserved in Romanesque design. Two bronze bells hang in it. Arched windows in the interior. The fighters are provided with round arch friezes on the old small triumphal arch on the east side. The church was probably built around 1200 and has been added on and rebuilt over and over again.

Structure and perspective

The structure and the roof have been secured recently. The churchyard was cleared of rubbish. Much inventory is lost and the organ by the Witzmann brothers (1835–1837) is in ruins. Nevertheless, the church is and remains in Grunstedt, they say.
