history

The pointed arch windows and a piscina (medieval sink niche for sacred liquids) are well preserved. The patronage of the church is not guaranteed. A surviving medieval figure with the inscription "sancte egidie ora pro nobis" (Saint Aegidius , pray for us) could be a reference to the name of the church.

Hesse organ

The choir has a remarkable wooden ceiling with wickerwork painting. Paintings from different centuries with biblical sayings and dedications can be seen on the walls. The winged altar from 1505 and 1550 shows Mary with the child. On the left stands Peter with the papal crown and on the right Paul with a book.
