History and architecture

The previous church from 1683, a half-timbered building with clay frames, did not have a tower, the current building was built in 1842 according to plans by building officer Friedrich Wilhelm Buttel . The rectangular, flat-roofed building is bricked in brick, the longitudinal walls are each divided by three arched windows. The tracery is made of yellow shaped stone. The building is covered with red tiles. The boxes and the pews date from the time the church was built. The iron bell cage, covered with reddish bricks, stands free next to the building, with two bells hanging in it. One was cast around 1500, the other around 1522. The bell from 1500 is decorated in the upper part with three ornamental lines, the middle line probably shows Hebrew characters. The church grounds are surrounded by a stone wall.

Furnishing

Current condition

Some parts of the roof structure show significant rot damage, the roof covering is no longer tight, rainwater is penetrating. The joints in the brickwork are heavily hollowed out and weathered by insects, the joints in the field stone base are washed out. Moisture can penetrate and destroy the walls. The leaded glazing on the windows is damaged and insufficiently sealed.
